If there is one thing you should know about Caesar's Triumph as it relates to blockchain, it's that blockchain enables players to sell their game assets for real money. No more spending time, energy and money in a game only to get nothing back in return if life or interests take you in a direction where you're no longer playing. In Caesar's Triumph, when you buy a village or a centurion for example, you always have the option to sell that village to another player!
But you may still be asking...
What is the blockchain? What's this Metamask thing? What do you mean by ERC-721? ERC-998?
Fortunately, with Caesar's Triumph, you don't need to know any of these answers to these questions to play and succeed in the game. We've developed a game that removes these barriers while delivering on all of the benefits of blockchain in gaming.
This section is really here in case you want to learn more about the underlying foundation of this game - which in our minds is pretty cool. Understanding this, however, will not help you any more in building your village or winning battles. But like we said, it's pretty cool and we think as a new player, you'll appreciate it just as much as loved building it.
Ok, so what's Metamask? I hear all the kids are using it.
While not a requirement to play the game, we encourage players to install Metamask. Metamask is a simple way to run Ethereum decentralized apps on your browser. It is a 3rd-party extension for the Chrome, Firefox, Opera and Brave browsers. It can be downloaded and more information can be found here.
Here’s a helpful video to get started with Metamask:
So if I don't need Metamask, why should I get it?
While not required, it is nice to have Metamask in Caesar's Triumph. At this time, you'll need Metamask to:
Sell your village
Buy or sell resources in Trajan's Market
Compose villages into towns and towns into cities
You won't need Metamask to do everything else:
Buy a village or denari packs
Upgrade your village production
Add new buildings to your lands
Compete and dominate in battles
Metamask is for desktop browsers but if you want to play on mobile and still get the same features of Metamask, we also work with Coinbase Wallet and Trust Wallet.
Yes! We’ve made it possible for players to store purchases made with a credit card in the GigLabs Ethereum wallet vault. At anytime, the user will be able to transfer their purchases to an Ethereum wallet of their choice.
In order to make purchases with a credit card, users will need to login using Google or through the standard email and password.
We accept VISA, American Express, Discover, and Mastercard. See our Terms and Conditions for additional information.
So what's this ERC stuff?
Items purchased in Caesar's Triumph are non-fungible tokens. This means a few things:
The item is unique and owned by you
No one can take it from you. It's yours (unless you choose to sell it)
There are different variations of non-fungible tokens but the two we have built in Caesar's Triumph are ERC-721 (our Centurions) and ERC-998 (our land). There is too much to explain here but trust us when we say that this is very cool! If you want to learn more, read these posts:
